The Lord Maitreya is the Risen Christ-Buddha and He is my Master
Who I have learned to love and Who I here write about for you,
Children of the Heart, to come to know and to love. For only if
you know Him and love Him will you open your hearts to Him, take
Him in, and thus redeem yourselves of your past, present, and
future. For only if you know Him and love Him will you make the
strenuous effort of taking initiation before the Christed One
and His two Christ assistants – Lord Jesus and Lord Kuthumi, and
so become helpers of the Christ and support Him in the raising
of the Earth’s vibrations from matter to matter inspirited, which
will slowly result in the Earth becoming a sacred planet.
The Lord Maitreya is an energy that also may appear in a form,
namely that of a Master strong of body, with radiant violet eyes
and long red hair. The Lord Maitreya has been the Bodhisattva
- the Christ of Earth - since the Lord Gautama became the Buddha
2,500 years ago.
The Lord Maitreya is a Great Son of God and on the inner levels
is now also a Buddha; hence we should know Him as the Risen Christ-Buddha,
Who will become the Buddha of Earth in 500 years, through an Earthly
embodiment for which a number of disciples, initiates, and Masters
are now preparing. Whenever a Cosmic Avatar is to embody, 500
years before this event takes place, the final education and preparation
of these souls is planned and carried out.
The Lord Maitreya has many titles and many names. He is an embodiment
of the Second Aspect of the Solar Logos, the aspect of Love Wisdom,
and His Light and Love not only flow all over the Earth, but are
felt on all planets in the solar system.

Tara Shan, at the Heart Healing Service before the Opening
Celebration at the Church of Maitreya for All Faiths (now the
Sanctuary of the Heart), 1995
- Let it be understood -
- that the Lord Maitreya, Who is the Christ, the Head of the
Hierarchy, works through all world server groups on the planet,
through all disciples and initiates who open to Him and recognise
Him for what He is, the Heart of the Hierarchy.
- Let it be understood -
- that He has a focus in Australia but He also has foci in
other places in this world. That He works in one way through
The Theosophical Fellowship and this Church and He may work
completely differently through other Churches, organisations,
groups. He works through economists, politicians, artists, musicians,
and spiritual people. He works wherever there is an entrance.
- Let it be understood -
- that you are part of His work on the Planet Earth, but that
there are others who work with Him as well in many capacities.
Open your heart to everyone who comes here, for they must come
to feel His Presence through this Church, through you. He can
only appear through us, the living beings, in whom He works.
And through developing a beautiful healing focus, a transmitter
of Light, He can come through this building as the Risen Christ
Who loves all with His Christed Heart.
- Let it be understood -
- that the Lord Maitreya works with great angels and with His
Brothers, the Manu and the Maha Chohan. That Their work is far
beyond the understanding of any group or any disciple or initiate.
We must learn that He works telepathically through disciples,
initiates, and Masters who come to understand His Plan through
being lifted into His Mind. Today we have a Heart Healing Service
which gives healing, which is a Service in which we try to attune
with the Heart of humanity, the Heart of humanity which consists
of all people of goodwill who live on this planet. We try to
do our very best at each Service to be of great use to the Lord
Maitreya and to His angels.
- Let it be understood -
- that though the Lord Christ has a name that has given name
to the word "Christian" and to Christian churches, He is the
Christ, the Bodhisattva, the World Teacher for all spiritual,
religious, philosophical, and cultural groups on the planet.
He is absolutely not Teacher or Leader only for the Christian
churches. We must always keep that in mind and become global
in consciousness so that we may become a true world server group.
A true world server group cannot be limited by one nation’s
boundaries, by one nation’s karma, or by one people’s consciousness.
To become a true world server group, we must go beyond one nation
to project our consciousness to other countries, to other people
for the Lord Maitreya's sake whenever the need arises.
When we so work as citizens of this Earth, not only citizens
of Australia but of the entire planet, and become planetary
citizens and then universal citizens, then you will understand
what it is to serve unselfishly and facelessly for our Lord
Maitreya.

Maitreya is beautiful. . .
If Nature by its beauty inspires you to perform great deeds,
to write poetry, to create music. . .
The Lord Maitreya as a son of Nature’s most beautiful reflection
comes to us as a vision of the most sublime,
the most radiant, the most caring human being,
and also the most supernal being Who by the slightest touch
can transform your inner and outer being
to enter a state of supreme consciousness.
The Lord Maitreya is both human and divine.
He can embrace you with arms you feel
and with arms that like wings of doves flutter gently within you.
His kiss can be felt physically on your lips
as well as on your heart’s door as a sensation of the purest sigh.
The Lord Maitreya can appear like a man
and He can appear like a sun
His light is rose and golden, warm and glowing.
His Heart beats for all of Earth
and in it humanity can be illuminated
Anyone who longs for true love, true sincerity and honesty
finds these qualities in Him.
But to meet Him face to face, heart to heart,
you must be prepared to give Him
your most precious possession: yourself,
for that is what He has given so many times
for us to survive planetary disasters and human evil.
He stands forever before us, but we cannot see Him
for our clouds of selfishness and egocenteredness.
Why do I tell you this?
Because like you, I was also once wrapt in clouds,
and then I gave Him myself
and His eyes Who looked through Jesus’ eyes into mine
touched my soul
and I remembered that I am Light.

The Lord Maitreya has many titles and many names. He is an embodiment
of the Second Aspect of the Solar Logos, the Aspect of Love Wisdom,
and His Light and Love not only flow all over the Earth, but are
felt on all planets in the solar system. He is the head of the
Spiritual Hierarchy, the inner government of Earth. He has been
the Christ on Earth for the last 2,500 years, since taking over
that office from the Lord Gautama when that Great Master became
the Buddha on Earth. He is also the Avatar of the Heart, the Risen
Christ, the Bodhisattva of Earth – and as He now prepares to take
the Buddha initiation in 500 years, He is becoming known as the
Risen Christ Maitreya Buddha of Earth, for He is slowly taking
on some of the Lord Buddha's duties.
On Earth a universal sister- and brotherhood is starting to form,
made of people whose aim it is to become Children of the Heart
and who wish to live a spiritual life called the Way of the Heart.
The Children of the Heart are children of Maitreya. The Children
of the Heart live all over the planet, most of them not knowing
that their Teacher, Illuminator, and Wayshower is the Lord Maitreya.
The Lord Maitreya teaches through the Doctrine of the Heart. He
teaches the Children of the Heart that they are the new humanity
who shall populate the Earth after the Great Change has occurred.
The Way of the Heart is in itself a new mystery school that is
opening up to admit more of humanity, teaching them through symbolism,
ceremonial rites, meditation, healing, service, and studies of
the Divine Wisdom, how to safely awaken the kundalini fire. The
kundalini fire shall then, by its ascent, change the consciousness
in this group of humanity – enabling them to continue life on
the planet Earth in the coming new age, the Age of Maitreya.
The Lord Maitreya is slowly revealing Himself by appearing not
only in the world of religions and philosophies, but also in the
world of politics, of education, of art and music, in science,
and even in the world of business.
All over the planet there are disciples of the Spiritual Hierarchy
who, with or without knowing it, are being utilised by the Lord
Maitreya as His vehicles in this process of the Reappearance of
the Christ. The Lord Maitreya shall not walk like the Lord Jesus,
using only one body of a great soul, but shall make use of a number
of older souls on various levels – over-shadowing them to bring
forth His Light, Love and Teaching to usher in the new age.
In 500 years the Lord Maitreya will incarnate physically to take
the Buddha initiation on the physical level. In that life He shall
be surrounded by all the disciples and Arhats who He will use
over the next 500 years as vehicles for His Christed work. Through
The Theosophical Fellowship, which is one of the vehicles being
used by Him today, He calls to the Children of the Heart globally,
trying to gather them together so that He can reveal Himself to
them and teach them the new laws of how to love God, and how to
work with Him. Everything is at its budding beginning.
The Lord Maitreya has planned His present work for a very long
time, and now He calls out to all who wish to serve as world servers
at this present time. We are entering into a time where the world
shall be touched by sadness, but also by glory because of the
spiritualisation of planet Earth. The energy that fills everyone
who looks to the Lord Maitreya for the answers about what is coming
is that of hope and an inner exultation.
It is our hope that you who read this will gather around the
Lord Maitreya, and commit your body, mind and spirit to supporting
the Lord Maitreya in the very difficult task of making holy this
planet for the Children of the Heart.

The Christ of Earth, also known as the Bodhisattva, is the Head
of the Hierarchy - the inner spiritual government of Earth. This
spiritual government is a group of enlightened, very advanced
spiritual beings working on the Seven Rays1,
Who guide and govern the Earth and humanity on the path of evolution
according to the Will of God.
The Office of the Christ is a very special and elevated position
and one of great responsibility. The Master Who stands in that
office is a Great Son of the Logos, and works with His or Her
superiors, the Buddha and the Lord of the World, to guide and
direct the efforts of the Hierarchy to help fulfil God's Plan
for Earth.
This office within the Hierarchy is on the Second Ray, the Ray
of Love and Wisdom, teaching and education; and thus the Christ
is also known as the World Teacher, the Teacher of Angels and
Men, reflecting the great work of this office in the education
of all beings.
The Lord Maitreya is the name of the being Who is currently the
Christ of Earth. He has been the Christ for the last 2,500 years
- ever since He took over that work from the Lord Gautama when
that great Master became the Buddha of Earth. "Maitreya"
is a Sanskrit word meaning compassion.
We also speak of Lord Maitreya as the Christ-Buddha, or Maitreya
Buddha, because He Himself is preparing to slowly move into the
Buddha Office within the Hierarchy over the next 500 years, and
therefore has the radiation of both positions. Parallel to this
process, the Christ Office is gradually being taken over by the
Lord Kuthumi, Who will work as the Bodhisattva in 500 years. The
Lord Jesus is working with the Lord Kuthumi and assisting the
Lord Maitreya; however, He will be leaving the Earth in 500 years.
The Lord Maitreya is a very great Master who has walked as a
human being on Earth, perfecting His human and spiritual self
through incarnation after incarnation of human life. The Lord
Maitreya has become what He is due to walking the path of suffering
and sacrifice.
We are most familiar with the energy and Presence of the Lord
Maitreya from when He overshadowed Lord Jesus 2,000 years ago
to give of His particular energy to Earth and humanity. This is
why we speak of that being as "Jesus Christ"; the Lord
Jesus was a Master in His own right, and He let the Lord Maitreya,
the Christ, step into His bodies to utilise them in order to perform
certain work needed on Earth.
When the body of Lord Jesus was crucified, it was the "blood"
of the Lord Maitreya that fell upon the Earth; and when His blood
touched the Earth, the Spirit of Maitreya entered deep into the
consciousness of this planet.
The Spirit of Maitreya has worked thus within the Earth for the
last 2,000 years to help in the process of the sanctification
of this planet and the spiritual evolution of humanity. In the
new phase which has commenced recently, this Spirit of the Lord
Maitreya has risen from the depths of the Earth to become a new,
living Light that surrounds the Earth, a Light which is visible
as a gold and pink fire rising from within the planet and radiating
from it.
This is why we also speak now of the Lord Maitreya as the "Living
Risen Christ". The Christ has never been "dead",
and never will be dead upon this Earth. The death of the Christ
as Christianity perceived it and has taught it was only an appearance
from when the Spirit of the Christ descended and was concealed
within the depths of the Earth. In this act, the Christ sacrificed
Himself through His boundless compassion into the body of this
planet to serve the great Plan of God in releasing the Earth from
pain and suffering and helping to lift it through the Portals
of Initiation. The Earth itself is a living entity which evolves
along the Path of Initiation as do all living beings. Currently
the Earth is preparing for a higher initiation.
The Lord Maitreya seeks to inspire all in the human kingdom to
help in this process of healing the Earth; and The Theosophical
Fellowship has a particular dharma to cooperate and help the Hierarchy
in this work.
The Lord Maitreya has, as do other Masters of the Hierarchy,
a retreat on Earth that is His abode and focus from which He works.
This retreat is in the Himalayas. One of His future inner abodes
in the West is the New Himalaya Retreat in Australia, where the
first Sanctuary of the Heart has been built. The Church
is a shrine to this great Master, a focal point and anchor of
His Light. It is from Australia that His plan - a plan which is
to take place over the next 500 years - is to reach far into the
Western world, and into all countries, to fulfil the next phase
of God's Plan to unify East and West and form a new spiritual
pathway that all of humanity can follow.
The Lord Maitreya is a real, living being, as are the other Masters,
and He walks on Earth in a physical body. He does not walk amongst
humanity because His Light is so intense it would cause disturbance
and disharmony in the vast majority of people, as they are not
purified enough or mature enough in their spiritual consciousness
or personality to take such energy. You can imagine it as like
trying to stand next to the Sun.
However, when we believe in Him, we open our hearts to Him, and
we can find and experience His Presence and energy in our lives.
This in turn helps us purify and mature spiritually so that we
one day may walk in His Presence. Although having a focus in Australia,
the Presence of the Lord Maitreya can be found everywhere in the
world. His work is for the world and His Spirit inspires all of
willing heart and mind who would serve Him and the Cause.
By believing in the Lord Maitreya, by studying and learning about
the Hierarchy and Their way of working (through the study of Theosophy),
we may better cooperate with Their great work for this Earth.
Every person can help, no matter the degree of spiritual development
he or she has, because it is the great number of willing and open
hearts that will help save the Earth from destruction. How much
we believe in Christ the Lord Maitreya, and how much we pray and
hope from within for His Light to be with us, and all people,
and the Earth, will make our hearts willing in the work.
When we open to the energy of the Lord Maitreya, and pray that
His Presence shall reach into the countries of the world where
there is warfare, starvation, natural catastrophes - His Presence
is there. When we pray that the suffering may be alleviated, that
peaceful solutions be found and violence ended, that food and
resources be shared so none shall starve, and especially that
the children be cared for and loved so that they may grow and
mature in His Light and become the foundation for His New Age,
the Age of Maitreya, we are contributing to the work of the Hierarchy.
Thus, every day we may help to further the Cause and the Lord
Maitreya’s work with our thoughts, actions, prayers, and
meditations, and when we come together in service.

The Lord Maitreya, whose name means kindliness or compassion,
took up the office of Bodhisattva when the Lord Gautama laid it
down, and since then he has made many efforts for the promotion
of Religion. One of his first steps on assuming office was to
take advantage of the tremendous magnetism generated in the world
by the presence of the Buddha, to arrange that great Teachers
should simultaneously appear in many different parts of the earth;
so that within a comparatively short space of time we find not
only the Buddha himself, Shri Shankaracharya and Mahavira in India,
but also Mithra in Persia, Laotse and Confuscius in China, and
Pythagoras in ancient Greece.
Twice he has himself appeared – as Krishna in the Indian
plains, and as Christ amid the hills of Palestine. In the incarnation
of Krishna the great feature was always love; the Child Krishna
drew round him people who felt for him the deepest, the most intense
affection. Again in his birth in Palestine, love was the central
feature of his teaching. He said, "This new commandment I
give unto you, that ye love one another as I have loved you."
He asked that his disciples might all be one in him even as he
was one with the Father. His closest disciple, St. John, insisted
most strongly upon the same idea: "He that loveth not knoweth
not God, for God is Love. "
What is now called Christianity was undoubtedly a magnificent
conception as he originally taught it, sadly as it has fallen
away from that high level in the hands of ignorant exponents since.
It must not be assumed, of course, that the teaching of brotherly
and neighbourly love was new in the world. As St. Augustine said
in his book De Civitate Dei:
The identical thing that we now call the Christian religion
existed among the ancients, and has not been lacking from the
beginnings of the human race until the coming of Christ in the
flesh, from which moment on the true religion, which already
existed, began to be called Christian.
Readers of the Bhagavad Gita will also remember the teaching
of love and devotion with which it is filled. The Bodhisattva
also occupied occasionally the body of Tsong-ka-pa, the great
Tibetan religious reformer, and through-out the centuries he has
sent forth a stream of his pupils, including Nagarjuna, Aryasanga,
Ramanujacharya, Madhava-charya, and many others, who founded new
sects or threw new light upon the mysteries of religion, and among
these was one of his pupils who was sent to found the Muhammadan
faith.
The sending out of teachers I have mentioned above is only part
of his work, which is not confined to humanity, but includes the
education of all creatures on earth, and among them the Deva evolution.
He is thus the head of all the faiths at present existing, and
of many others which have died out in the course of time, though
he is of course responsible for them only in their original form,
and not for the corruption which man has naturally and inevitably
introduced into all of them as the ages have rolled by. He varies
the type of religion to suit the period of the world's history
at which it is put forth, and the people to whom it is given;
but though the form may vary as evolution proceeds, the ethics
are ever the same.
He will come to earth many times more during the progress of
the root race, founding many such religions, and each time drawing
round himself such men of that race as are prepared to follow
him, from among whose number he chooses some whom he can draw
into closer relation with himself, some who are pupils in the
innermost sense. Then towards the end of the race, when it is
already far past its prime, and a new race is beginning to dominate
the world, he will arrange that all his special pupils, who have
followed him in those previous incarnations, shall come to birth
together about the time of his last life in the world. In it he
will attain the great Initiation of the Buddha, and thus gain
perfect enlightenment; at that time these pupils of his, without
physically knowing or remembering him, will all be strongly attracted
towards him, and under his influence great numbers of them will
enter the Path, and many will advance to the higher stages, having
already in previous incarnations made considerable progress. We
thought at first that the accounts given in the Buddhist books
of large numbers of men who instantly attained the Arhat level
when the Lord Gautama became the Buddha were beyond the bounds
of possibility; but we found on closer examination that there
was truth underlying those accounts. It is possible that the numbers
were exaggerated, but that very many pupils did suddenly attain
these higher degrees of Initiation under the impetus given by
the mighty magnetism and power of the Buddha is undoubtedly a
fact.
She is a disciple of the Lord Maitreya and so works to bring forth
the Heart of Maitreya in Heart Flow teachings and in ceremonial
work.
Ananda teaches keys to the wisdom of the heart, promoting the Way
of the Heart through meditation, healing, world service and Heart
Flow teachings. In support of this teaching, Ananda has developed
a meditation system, a healing system, ceremonial orders for world
service and Heart Flow teachings for active people who wish to serve
under the Heart of the Lord Maitreya.
Ananda has worked over 25 years with the Hierarchy to help maintain
world peace and has inducted many spiritual seekers into a life
of higher light.
