Avoiding War

Ananda Tara Shan

We want to avoid war almost at any cost. Why I say “almost” is due to the fact that perhaps a war will be starting soon, because a man whose hatred towards the western world knows no end may soon be ready and prepared to use germ warfare and other weapons of mass destruction, against the western world. If that should happen, it could mean death spreading from the first country of contamination to other countries.

To people who see him, Saddam Hussein may look like an uncle or a sort of nice looking man with a caring attitude towards his own people, but unfortunately this image is wrong. Not only has this man shown how little he cares about his own people, but he has happily killed as many of them as he felt comfortable doing, for reasons we can only guess at. Dictators and tyrants have mental and emotional attitudes that “normal” people can never comprehend. The need for power and control, plus a murderous rage is a deadly combination.

This man is the political leader of Iraq, and some of his own people consider him a true hero and a victim of western aggression and religious intolerance. I believe that most of his people are very fearful of him and know what happens to those who openly oppose his rulership and disagree with his ideas and dealings with regards to leading Iraq.

There comes a time when greater evil must be stopped. Hopefully that time has not yet come.

The Israelis are in a war with their brothers. The Americans have been in cold and warm wars over many years. But none of them are likely to spread germs over another country unless they have their backs against the wall.

The Americans and the Israelis, the British and the Australian governments and other nations are now afraid that Saddam Hussein is planning to act out his hardly controlled evil against the world.

It is debateable whether the situation has become explosive enough to act quickly or whether the Americans are premature in their suppositions. The fact is though that Saddam Hussein is like Hitler, a man without conscience, without mercy, without light, and he might be an Instrument of Destruction in this world.

I believe that the best we ordinary people can do to avoid disasters is to pray, to meditate, and to invoke the Forces of Light to intervene on our behalf, for here on Earth we are often blinded to the truth. We are confused for we hear so many stories, we see so many dreadful images, and we hear so many words that we no longer know the truth. But one truth is clear: Saddam Hussein is the enemy of the people of this Earth. Do we dare to wait for him to strike first?
